Bickel’s staff are always looking for new ways to inspire and celebrate their students. Ms Conrad has recently brought testing incentives to the next level. Every one of her 5th graders that beat their best ISIP score, got to add onto her tattoos. Each point they went up led to a tattoo. All together it was like 175 tattoos! The tattoos may only be temporary, but surely they created lasting memories.

It is that time of year. We have so many celebrations that we may have to start posting more than one per day. Teacher Appreciation Week has been so much fun. Thank you PTO for spoiling us rotten all week. The photo shows the cart that teachers got to "shop" from yesterday!

Yesterday was our final Attendance Store! Our students earned Bickel Bucks each month based on their attendance. The PTO helped with the store. It was something that our Bobcats really enjoyed.

Happy Principal's Day! Thanks for all that you do.

Today our kindergarteners enjoyed a cup of "coffee" (in kindergarten it is more often pronounced toffee).Every Wednesday at Bickel is referred to as Coffee Day. The Bridge Street Coffee Truck sells delicious drinks to the staff on Wednesdays. The students know how excited Mrs. Williams gets on Coffee Day. She thought it would be memorable to let the kids enjoy their own special blend today. Thank you Bridge Street Coffee for working with us to make sure that each kindergartener got a special cup of hot chocolate. Thank you Mrs. Garcia and Mrs. Brewer for making today possible. The kids enjoyed it a latte!

A little someTHING to remind you- wear red, white, and blue tomorrow (29th) to celebrate our AmeriCorp teachers. They have worked with our kindergartners to our 3rd graders helping to reinforce their reading skills. Thank you Ms. Abe and Ms. Linda for all of your help.

We are finalizing the details for the last day of school. We need volunteers (18 years and older) to sign-up to help with our Field Day rotations. Only those signed -up can attend the Field Day activities. If you are able to volunteer from 8:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on May 22 please complete the Volunteer Application at https://apps.raptortech.com/apply/MjYyOmVuLVVT and then contact Mrs. Garcia to be added to our list of volunteers - (208) 733-4166. For those unable to volunteer, please save the date and join us for a picnic lunch at 11:00 am on that day. Watch for more information as Field Day gets closer.

The first graders have been learning about the life cycle of a butterflies. Each first grade class had caterpillars that are now butterflies. On Friday Mrs. Ruiz released butterflies while her first graders and the kindergartners watched in awe!
Reminders: School dismisses at 2:00 on Mondays and make sure that you turned in last week's reading minutes.

Our 1st through 5th graders enjoyed their trip to Jive. The show was very good. The kindergarteners stayed behind and hung out in the first grade rooms to see what first grade is like!

Make sure to thank Mrs. Garcia today. Bickel would not run as smoothly as it does without her. We are so lucky to have Mrs. Garcia looking out for and taking care of all of us.

Photos from Mrs. Jones' 5th grade- "Genius Hour" research projects, and their March Book Madness bracket. They are reading the winning book now and the kids are enjoying it--they complain every time they end a chapter, and they have to wait another day to find out what happens next!

Our first grade teachers have organized an ABC Countdown. Every day for the remainder of the year, they celebrate a letter of the alphabet. Today was Cc and the 3rd graders joined in with some creatively, cute Crazy Hair!

Hope that you all had a Hoppy weekend! Remember that school dismisses at 2:00 on Mondays. Please turn in your reading minutes. Also, we will resume our State testing this week for 3rd-5th grade.

One of our Bobcat families graciously allowed me to share some photos from the Princess Dance. The Twin Falls High School Student Council recent sponsored this amazing event. It sure looks like a night of happily ever afters.
