This is my first year in the Twin Falls School District and I am very excited about the opportunity! I have been in education for the past 12 years, teaching 5th grade. I am currently working at Morningside and Oregon Trail as the Math/Science and Literacy Block Teacher. I love being able to work with Kindergarten through 5th grade students at both schools!
I have been a teacher with the Twin Falls School District since 1987. That seems like such a long time but I think that being around such wonderful kids every day makes me feel younger each year! I have taught 5th grade, 3rd grade, science block, and now I’m working with English Language Learners (ELL). Besides being a teacher, I also love to learn. I earned my Associate’s Degree from CSI, my Bachelor’s Degree from ISU and my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in helping English Language Learners from BSU. Every day my students teach me about our world, cultures, and language. Together we learn about living in America, our English language, and being compassionate human beings. My favorite quote to live by is, “Students don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” – Theodore Roosevelt

I moved to Twin Falls last year from the small rural town of McGill, Nevada where I taught for 21 years. I spent 13 years teaching and working in the field of Early Childhood Education. In 2007 I began my elementary teaching career where I taught Kindergarten, 2nd, 4th and Special Education. I have a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Social Science, and Early Childhood Education. In 2008 I decided to go back to school and obtain my Masters of Science in Special Education. When I am not teaching I spend my leisurely time swimming, writing, and spending time with my family. I am loving life here in Idaho and look forward to many more years of teaching at Morningside.

I was born and raised in a small town in northwest Montana with the Flathead Lake as my back yard. I went to college at Faith Baptist Bible College and studied Secretarial Science for two years. I married the man of my dreams when I was 22, and had 2 kids-a boy and a girl, we lived in Missoula, Montana. In 2002, we moved to Twin Falls, kicking and screaming, but now we wouldn’t have had it any other way. I started working for the TF school district as a sub in 2002, then at Morningside as a playground aide in 2003. In 2008, I got my dream job as secretary at Morningside Elementary, where I still am today.
